SUMMARY:
MEPUSA, a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., is an E&P company with substantial investments in gas assets located in the United States. The Accounting department is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager, who is responsible for directing both revenue and regulatory accounting functions for multiple companies. The Revenue Accounting Manager utilizes a deep knowledge for areas such as oil & gas revenue accounting, and oil & gas operations to guide their team and to collaborate with various internal departments. Responsibilities primarily include oversight of related monthly close processes, financial and management reporting and analysis, accounting team leadership, special projects, and Manager support as needed. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong skills in leadership, communication, analysis, innovation, and be able to foster a positive team environment while mentoring and overseeing the work of others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of oil & gas revenue, royalty payments and royalty reporting, for multiple US onshore operated, non-operated and midstream assets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and review contracts to ensure that revenue is recorded accurately.
- Monitor and oversee the month-end accruals and revenue reporting close processes.
- Oversight of Production Accounting (production and sales volume at well level) for operated and non-operated assets.
- Ensure proper and timely reporting to working interest and royalty interest partners, and governmental agencies.
- Operations reviews & analytics including LOS reporting, budget vs. actuals and Operations reporting / support.
- Direct the integration of revenue and regulatory accounting data and processes for planned acquisitions.
- Maintain and enhance internal control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
- Special projects as needed.
- Ability to data mine, develop system or Excel-based reporting, and innovatively find solutions for ad-hoc requests.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently in support of team objectives.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting concepts.
- Understanding of state and federal regulations and operational reporting requirements.
- Ability to lead cohesive teams, and to improve individual capabilities through mentorship and training.
- Good data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Identify and implement process enhancements that improve effectiveness or create efficiencies.
- Prepare and communicate effective presentations to various audiences.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (including Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Minimum of 7 years revenue and/or regulatory accounting experience at an operator E&P company
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent is required
- Experience working in an ERP system (Quorum preferred)
- Fluent verbal and written English skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
