Summary of Responsibilities:
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Tax and Accounting Service Partner supervise and monitor the monthly accounting process while providing outstanding personal service to a section of our small business clientele with tax and accounting services.
Essential Duties:
- Review monthly financial statements of accounting service clients prepared by associate and paraprofessionals
- Assist the Tax and Accounting Service Partner monitor the day to day operations of the accounting service department to ensure monthly client work is being done effectively and efficiently
- Assist paraprofessional and associate staff with the development of their monthly accounting service procedures for assigned clients and properly document processes within the firm’s workflow process
- Provide support and assistance to tax and accounting service employees to answer client inquiries and requests
- Responsible for the preparation of business and individual tax returns for small business clients
- Manage the accounting service departments workflow process, onboarding process, and training for associates and paraprofessional with the guidance of the Tax and Accounting Service Partner
- Perform weekly check-ins with accounting service associates and paraprofessionals
Other Duties:
- Provide coverage of monthly accounting service client work when associates or paraprofessionals are on vacation or out sick
- Assist the Tax and Accounting Service Partner with the monitoring of the time and billing activities of the accounting service department
- Coordinates and controls the retention of the firm’s accounting and legal records, ensuring that all information is safely stored and available on short notice.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Must be computer savvy; embrace and learn new technology with ease!
- Four-year college degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, or business.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.

- Upbeat, confident, and friendly personality.
- 2+ years of accounting supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
- Tax return preparation (1040, 1065, 1120) experience preferred.
- 2+ years' experience at a CPA firm preferred.
- CPA or EA license preferred
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor preferred
- An individual in this position will need to be familiar with the following software, accounting concepts, and business concepts listed below.
- QuickBooks and Xero
- CCH Axcess tax software
- Microsoft Office
- Reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Debits and credits
- Types of business entities
- Individual income, small business, and payroll tax laws
- Assisting with third party payroll processing via Gusto or ADP
