Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Master Social Worker (MSW) to provide clinical social work services to high-risk patients and their families. This role will involve assessing, intervening, and implementing effective treatments for emotional and social issues, with a focus on improving the overall well-being of patients in a medical setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Medical Social Work, Case Management, and Brief Treatment, with a passion for helping individuals navigate emotional challenges in the healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize clinical social work techniques and theory to assess, consult, and intervene with high-risk patients and their families, addressing emotional and social issues.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and make psychosocial diagnoses to guide treatment planning and interventions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring that they are effective in addressing the needs of the patient and family.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and families about the psychosocial aspects of medical conditions and coping strategies.
  • Offer supervision, coaching, and mentoring to patients and their families to promote emotional resilience and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide holistic care to patients.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and respond to emergency psychosocial situations as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a social worker (LSW or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Social Work, Case Management, or Brief Treatment.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in Emergency Department (ED) social work.
  2. Expertise in Grief and Bereavement counseling.
  3. Knowledge of Cultural Responsiveness in healthcare settings.
  4. Previous experience with Crisis Intervention and managing high-stress patient situations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Proficient in clinical social work techniques and psychological assessment methods.
  • Ability to provide empathetic, non-judgmental support to patients and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare systems, and patient care protocols.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing care plans and making adjustments based on patient needs.
