Job Description

OVERVIEW

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will gather, analyze, and compile data needed to identify trends and patterns, and make recommendations for business actions. The Business Analyst will also assist in defining and driving strategic, operational and organizational improvements across our business units while maintaining Engle Martin's Foundation and Culture.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads consultative sessions with leaders and operation team members to examine analytical needs and help identify solutions that define goals and develop a strategy for the rollout of data reporting solutions for immediate and future use.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets complex data from multiple sources to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement and optimize operational performance.
  • Develop and utilize statistical models and analytical techniques to derive insights.
  • Define, track, monitor and report on key performance indicators relevant to operational activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operational processes to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to address specific questions or issues as requested by management or other departments.
  • Accurately obtains, analyzes, and provides feedback on business and client-specific information needs
  • Creates and maintains Power Bi dashboards, reports and visualizations to communicate data findings effectively
  • Develop and leads monthly/quarterly business reviews that benchmarks each departments trending financial performance, evaluates cost, and measures the overall productivity/health of the business
  • Works cross functionally to build out solutions and insights for competitive intelligence
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry and business trends
  • Creates complex data reports and provides analysis regarding forecasting, client needs and benchmarking for use by senior leadership and confidently communicates data findings.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field preferred, or equivalent education, training and work-related experience considered
  • Expert Knowledge of Excel and PowerBI
  • Commercial Insurance, specifically Claims experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analysis role, and/or 3+ years insurance line of business, systems analysis, along with 2 years of business analysis and statistical analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Understands data warehousing, solutions and complexities of data.
  • Practical experience in financial modeling and operational performance analysis is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate concepts and findings to various audiences
  • Excellent data extraction skills for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, and the ability to research, investigate and problem solve.
