How you'll make an impact:Based in our Global headquarter in Rolling Meadows IL, our team is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support our Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse function. You will report directly to our Business Intelligence Program Manager and have an opportunity to work collaboratively with our team of experienced BA's.
- You will formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding
- You will elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- You will define and document internal and external user interfaces and support system and data requirements clarification and definition
- You will analyze business processes, identify process deficiencies, research solutions and oversee the remediation of these deficiencies
- You will assist with the design and implementation of operational and system improvements to ensure production capabilities are both effective and efficient
- You will write and validate business requirements and conduct User Acceptance testing with business stakeholders and vendors
- You will build trust in our key business partner relationships
- You will create clarity in projects and work effectively through ambiguity
- You will handle complex business and technical environments (across multiple platforms, dealing with multiple vendors, data flowing in from multiple parties and out to multiple parties, etc.)
What skills will make me successful in this role?
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation Claims data
- Synthesize / codify requirements from a disparate group of stakeholders. Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans. Mentor and influence others through example.
- Strong communicator - Facilitation of meetings thru asking probing questions and truly listening and absorbing the requirements and needs of business partners and vendors
- Align business/technical objectives and facilitate a shared understanding of the problem at hand
- Evaluate and critically consider multiple options before helping the team settle on a solution
- Impeccable documentation and business writing skills - You have a keen ability to build clear and concise BRD's and clearly articulate the business asks
- Open to constructive feedback and learning from an experienced team
- Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Ability to self-motivate, set goals, prioritizes and meet deadlines.
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of experience in a BSA role, 2 years in Analytics/BI or Data Integration.
- 3+ years experience working with SQL.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with ability to understand business strategy, provide consultative business analysis, and leverage technical skills to create insightful, effective BI solution.
- A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
- Experience working with disparate data sources and turning them into a unified solution.
- Flexibility in use of SDLC frameworks Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid
- Experience working in a SSIS/SSRS/PowerBI environment is considered a plus.
