Overview:

Responsible for identifying business needs and determining solutions to business problems, especially helping with Transformation and Modernization. This involves working closely with stakeholders to define requirements, processes, and system improvements to enhance the organization's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to understand their objectives, pain points, and expectations. This involves identifying key stakeholders, assessing their influence and interest, and determining how project outcomes will impact them.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements, documenting and prioritizing these requirements for system enhancements and new development projects.
  • Analyze and model data to create clear specifications for the development team, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks. Apply analytical thinking to anticipate future requirements and propose process improvements or system enhancements to address current challenges.
  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies, staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Perform requirements analysis, documenting and communicating the results of your analysis effectively to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Guide and participate in user acceptance testing to ensure the developed solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users, managing competing resources and priorities.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Specific Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques, such as SWOT analysis, business process modeling, and requirements gathering.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify business needs and determine effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders and articulate complex concepts.
  • Certification in business analysis, such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC).
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and conduct effective stakeholder interviews.
  • Requires willingness to travel and possession of a valid Illinois driver's license as required by individual positions within the class.
Education and Work Experience:

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years college, preferably with courses in computer science, management information systems, mathematics or statistics AND minimum three years' experience as a Business Analyst for transformation related projects.
