We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team and play a crucial role in generating the insights required to succeed in value-based contracts. Reporting to the PHM Financial Planning Analytics Program Director, the Business Analyst will apply financial and analytical expertise to assess and optimize value-based care initiatives. This role will focus on conducting detailed financial analysis, developing cost containment strategies, and producing performance reports to drive improvements in value-based care contracts. The Business Analyst will work closely with claims and clinical data, utilizing expertise in data visualization tools and techniques to create actionable reports. Familiarity with Milliman MedInsight and Tableau is preferred but not required. Principle Duties: Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze claims and clinical data to assess performance under value-based contracts. Generate and maintain reports and dashboards in Tableau and Excel to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends. Contract Evaluation: Evaluate financial performance related to value-based contracts, including savings, costs, and quality metrics. Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing contract performance. Data Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate data from various sources, including Epic and Milliman MedInsight, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. Data Quality and Accuracy: Ensure high standards of data quality and accuracy in all analyses and reporting. Implement processes for data validation and address any discrepancies promptly. Collaboration: Partner with clinical and operational teams to understand performance drivers and support data-driven decision-making. Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Analytics Tools and Platforms: Utilize Milliman MedInsight for claims-based contract analytics and benchmarking. Employ Tableau and Excel to create interactive dashboards, reports, and financial models to present complex data in an accessible manner. Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience in financial analytics and reporting within healthcare settings, with a focus on value-based care contracts. Experience analyzing claims and clinical (preferably Epic) required. Technical Skills: Must be proficient in SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint. Tableau or PowerBI proficiency is preferred. Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in finance, healthcare administration, economics, business administration, or a related field with relevant experience. A master's degree in business/health administration, public health, or economics is preferred. Experience Substitution: A combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements. Skills and Abilities: Financial Analysis: Strong background in financial analysis, with experience in evaluating and optimizing value-based care contracts. Ability to produce financial models to project contract performance and evaluate impact of population health initiatives. Programming Skills: Proficiency in SQL. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to present complex financial findings to non-technical audiences. Must be proficient in PowerPoint. Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization software (Tableau preferred) for creating insightful financial dashboards and reports. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and test hypotheses, and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment. Independence and Teamwork: Capable of working independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and resourceful approach.
