Overview Collaborates with stakeholders and technology counterparts to deliver solutions that provide maximum value. Utilizes a variety of elicitation techniques to understand stakeholder's needs, analyzing information and data and ensuring requirements documentation meets enterprise standards. Requirements documentation may include supporting multiple project delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile, and iterative). Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Coordinates with project team members and key partners across the enterprise to deliver high quality documentation and adhere to business analysis best practices. Deliver project deliverables that may include documentation of current state/as-is and future state/to-be; multiple types of requirements to support multiple stakeholders and multiple project delivery methodologies; and diverse types of diagrams to support architectural and data-related requirements. Provides gap analysis. Serves as a liaison between business and technology partners to drive solution delivery. Supports development of less experienced business analysts and team members. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, communicating delivery status, estimating effort associated with project deliverables, and being accountable for meeting target delivery dates. May be assigned to multiple, medium to large, semi-complex and concurrent projects. Responsible to make an established range of decisions, escalating to manager level associates when necessary. Responsibilities What you will do: Delivery of high-quality project deliverables and meeting target delivery date. Utilizes a variety of elicitation techniques to deliver high quality project deliverables in support of project delivery. Responsible for planning and monitoring activities related to business analysis. Performs stakeholder analysis and selects appropriate project approach, and estimates business analysis effort with regard to project deliverables. Requests assistance and support when needed. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with program and project managers to ensure clear understanding of program and project goals, objectives, scope, and deliverables. Responsible for elicitation of requirements documentation which may include supporting multiple delivery methodologies while collaborating with multiple business analysts to deliver a comprehensive package of project deliverables when delivering a semi-complex to complex project. Confirms and communicates stakeholder needs. Collaborates with technology partners to identify solution options. Ensures solutions are well documented and understood by all project stakeholders. Ensures traceability of multiples types of requirements to business objectives, test cases and solutions. Effectively communicates and documents project needs via deliverables such as RAP (Requirements Analysis Package) documents, user stories, diagrams, process flows, and data mapping documents. Ability to identify multiple types of requirements and documents these as needed. Ensures clear, concise, and consumable deliverables are documented and approved by all project stakeholders. Ensures hand-off of documentation across multiple business analysts is understood and occurs as needed. Requests assistance and support when needed. Conveys an appropriate sense of urgency when risks and issues arise throughout the delivery of projects as related to project deliverables as well as potential need for prioritization and escalation. Coordinates and facilitates meetings with representatives from all levels of the organization, vendors and regulatory agencies as required to support planning, validation, and final deployment processes. Seeks guidance from management as needed with expectation to develop increased independence regarding decision making. Assists with the interpretation of requirements into feasible options, considering technical and business constraints, and communicates options to the stakeholders. Articulates the distinction between types requirements and delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile, and iterative). Demonstrated experience creating and working in a team culture that is committed to collaborative cross- functional relationships and service excellence. Leadership responsibilities include: mentors and coaches others in business analysis documentation techniques, standards, and best practices; proactivley pursues self-development and improvement in delivery assurance skills on a control basis; works with moderate supervision and is empowered to make an established range of decisions, escalating to management when necessary and updating management on a regular basis; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with associates and vendors at all levels. Requests assistance and support when needed; establishes, fosters, and maintains working relationships with project stakeholders and other groups throughout the organization; acts as a change agent across the enterprise in support of best practices and where applicable, advocates PMO services. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science or computer engineering (Required) or Commensurate experience. (Required) Minimum of 2 - 3 years of business analysis experience in support of project delivery in IT or a business environment. (Required) and Demonstrated experience in eliciting and documenting requirements package deliverables. Requirements documentation meets best practices and is complete, consistent, feasible, modifiable, unambiguous, and testable. (Required) and Demonstrated experience in leading identification of business analysis project specific deliverables that support project goals and objectives. (Required) and Demonstrated use of strong listening, communication, and presentation techniques. Verbal and written communications are to conform to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. Demonstrated ability to process information from various sources for detailed analysis, recommendations and decision making. Proven analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Demonstrated adaptability when required to adjust to multiple demands/deadlines, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change. Requests assistance and support when needed. Proven ability to assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts. Proven successful experience on identifying basic to moderately complex problems, quantifying problems and providing effective solutions. Proven ability to maintain and reconcile traceability of requirements with consideration for reuse of documentation for future projects of a similar nature. Proven ability to effectively participate in peer reviews of requirements documentation performed with and by others. Demonstrated personal initiative to learn new skills and improve professional expertise. Demonstrated attention to detail with strong organization skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize workload demands. Proven emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and enterprise and team thinking. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of various insurance industry systems, insurance and annuity products and/or the product development process; not required, but helpful. Proven ability to mentor and coach less experienced business analysts. Demonstrated ability to participate in recruiting and interviewing candidates for BA positions. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint). MS SharePoint experience is desired, not required.
