Learn more about us at http://www.nvaonline.comSchedule:Sunday-Tuesday 7pm-7amJob Description:The purpose of the Veterinary Doctor Assistant is to assist in providing high quality medical support and administrative assistance to the Doctor Team. The Veterinary Doctor Assistant will be assigned to assist the Doctors within outpatient or inpatient departments. The doctor is the team lead, and will be prioritizing patients, directing the team and is the ultimate decision maker.Duties & Responsibilities of the Veterinary Doctor Assistant: Collecting and documenting (in SOAP) initial patient histories Starting an estimate and reviewing with the owner based on DVM recommended treatments Facilitating basic pet restraints to assist doctors with exams Communicating DVM approved estimate to either OP liaison or directly to the client Utilizing and entering treatments into Smartflow for patient care Ensure diagnostics and treatments are being started in a timely manner Documenting lab results, treatments or other medical record details in SOAP as directed by the attending DVM Administrative Duties: Safety:Follow OSHA requirements Follow practice's health and safety protocols Administrative: Be proficient in using our veterinary practice-management software (EzyVet, SmartFlow, Timeless) Assist Client Administrators as necessary Attend staff and individual meetings as scheduled Client Services:Greet incoming clients/patients; facilitate medical record paperwork/computer entry Teamwork:Participates in a positive manner in all group sizes. Refrains from participating in gossip-leads by example. Supports team members by assisting other areas, is receptive to feedback and suggestions. Engages in active problem-solving vs. problem-identifying. Makes suggestions related to client/patient service improvements and hospital efficiency.
