Description

DECKED is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. Potential applicants must be highly skilled in implementing and maintaining manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products. Applicants must have good knowledge of tool design, fabrication methods and other necessary manufacturing engineer skills which include project management, commitment to quality, and familiarity with safety and environmental standards. Applicants must be able to ensure our production systems work efficiently and effectively to satisfy our customers.

Requirements

Essential Job Duties:

  • Machining & welding fixture design.
  • CNC & robotics production program development.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes based on conformance to quality criteria, & efficiency.
  • Specify or design and install manufacturing equipment.
  • Evaluate the appropriate use of, and return on investment for potential automation projects.
  • Justify capital improvement projects based on improvements in efficiency, safety etc.
  • Optimize facility layout, production lines, and machine operations.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality.
  • Train staff in new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate with supervision, QC, other engineers, contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
Key Competencies, Education and Experience
  • Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role.
  • Must be proficient in CNC machining including fixture design, setups, G-Code, and CAM programming.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. Solidworks, Fusion360).
  • Project management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Ability to occasionally work late shifts.
  • BS Degree in Engineering, or equivalent job experience.
  • Continuing education is a must, specifically in Automation.
