PURPOSE:
To review and improve current manufacturing processes and establish the manufacturing methods and layouts of new products (domestic and international).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Participates as an active member of location management team to develop strategic planning, budgets and competitive intelligence.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and ergonomic consideration.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and justify the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Maintains Manufacturing system pertaining to BOM, routers for make-to-stock parts, as well as day-to-day requirements for special orders.
Interface with representative and customers as required.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Responsible for production safety, costs and product quality.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Analyzes and produces justification for new equipment purchases.
Responsible for executing and supporting the quality system and procedures in the effort for continuous improvement.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Establishing the manufacturing of new products.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possibility of directly supervises 5-20 employees in the production area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from 4-year college or university in industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering; and 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
FINANCIAL SKILLS:
The incumbent must be able to analyze and interpret financial information, reports and results, and recommend strategies to improve the financial performance of the division. A general understanding of financial ratios and calculations is required as well as the ability to read and understand financial statements.
