Greasing the wheels behind the scenes, our people in Operations are the backbone of our Company.GENERAL FUNCTION The primary focus of this position is to support the Department Supervisor by overseeing Lab Technicians in the assigned department. All duties and procedures are to be performed according to the established standard and in compliance with all company and governing body policies. This position is expected to act as a resource, helping direct the work on the floor, train group members and resolve issues as they arise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAcquires and maintains a detailed understanding of the products, processes and equipment within the assigned areaDemonstrates a high degree of discipline, integrity and work ethic to members of the teamLeads activities for associate techs, production techs, and sr. production techsEnsures Associates are following all processes for their assigned location, including safety proceduresResolves process problems to affect minimum downtime and maximum process yields, while utilizing established problem solving methods, technical resources and by working with fellow associates and management.Supports supervisors in meeting daily production goalsPerforms all necessary routine maintenance, including planning and tracking, utilizing maintenance management software, and assisting maintenance technicians with machinery upkeep as neededProvides production data as required for the functional areaProvides support and maintains open communication with facility management, and other location teamsPerforms or directs calibration of all equipment & tooling, maintaining documentation per ISO Standards for all DST equipment and processesSupports their team, to consistently meet Key Operating Measures such as Quality Control, Breakage Costs, Equipment Utilization, and On-time delivery.Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as assigned by leadersActively reviews workforce by tracking relevant metrics in order to direct associates effectively.Solicits associates for feedback on missed opportunities and successesMakes recommendations on potential development opportunities for associatesNote: this description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSTo be a good fit for the Group Lead opportunity, you will have:High school diploma or equivalent relevant work experience2 to 3 years of related work experiences, such as in production or distribution. Experience in optical lab settings is strongly preferredDemonstrates a high level of professionalismDemonstrated competency in the use of diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot, control systems, robotics, and automated equipmentCompetency in Windows based architecture and with Microsoft ApplicationsDemonstrated ability to maintain a disciplined structured work environmentDemonstrated ability to show up for scheduled work as assignedAble to rotate from sitting and standing for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours per day)Ability to bend or twist as neededAble to use of repetitive motion of hands and wristsAbility to lift up to 25 poundsStrong communication (oral and written) skillsAbility to Communicate and write in EnglishAbility to communicate to all levels of the organizationExcellent organizational abilities.Attention to detailEmployee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
