BAE Systems, one of the world's premier defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Combat Missions manufacturing site in Aiken, South Carolina.
As our Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will:
+ Guide manufacturing engineering teams that support combat vehicle production focusing on CNC programming, Fabrication and Weld process development, and Tool Design.
+ Work closely with a diverse group of experienced teammates in a fast paced, challenging environment - learning and growing as you join our mission to support our Armed Forces who protect our nation.
+ Provide support to the production floor, review and implement engineering design changes, oversee the development of manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
+ Provide key input into Capital Project Implementations and act as a Project Leader during equipment installations with responsibility for on-time completion of projects while remaining within budget.
+ Develop staffing plans and be responsible for the hiring, training, mentorship, career development and retention of Manufacturing Engineering staff with alignment to BAE goals and objectives.
+ Interface with senior leadership, customers and key stakeholders to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and resolve technical concerns.
+ Develop annual departmental operating budgets, develop cost estimates for labor and bid tooling requirements on new contracts / as well as approve department expenditures and monitor budget performance.
+ Contribute to the creation, documentation and sharing of best practices, manufacturing strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
+ Conduct risk assessments of processes and equipment within the facility.
+ Ensure all functions operate in accordance with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to promote the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Typically a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related degree and 10 years experience or equivalent experience and education.
+ Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment to include specific knowledge of machining, fabrication, tool design and welding processes.
+ Experience using engineering and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
+ Demonstrated use of ERP systems (such as Oracle, SAP, JBA) for product sequence and indented BOM definition.
+ Strong organizational and communication techniques, with demonstrated experience balancing multiple priorities to achieve an established timeline.
+ Ability to identify, define, interpret, and develop new and innovative technical solutions to address engineering problems involving conflicting design/contractual/policy or technical requirements.
+ Demonstrated commitment to strong safety practices, taking accountability for identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Working knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Siemens NX or Mastercam.
+ Experience using 3D CAD Software such as PTC Creo, ProE, Catia.
+ Knowledge of inspection methods and processes.
+ Experience with relevant military and commercial design standards.
+ 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience; which would include extensive experience in a manufacturing environment performing fundamental engineering work to increasingly progressive positions of responsibility up to supervisory level.
+ Working knowledge of metallurgy and material properties and related impacts to design and manufacturability.
+ Working knowledge of robotic weld systems and other automated solutions to improve operational efficiency.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $127900 - $217400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
