The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.

We are currently seeking a PT Administrative Clerk at The Caring Place Thrift Store in Miami, FL,


JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Clerk (AC) reports to the Office Manager (OM) and provides clerical support and dispatch responsibilities as directed. The AC is responsible for keeping records of donations, scheduling drivers for merchandise pick-up or delivery, and preparing related reports for the Office Manager or Director of Social Enterprises.

CORE DUTIES

  • Guide and instruct all CSA support staff working in the call center
  • Completes all assigned tasks by immediate supervisor in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Performs all filing for the dispatch office
  • Courteously answers office telephone in a timely manner
  • Helps to resolve donor problems
  • Schedules donations pickup of goods, cars, etc.
  • Enters data into computer to record various reports such as daily sales reports1
  • Prepares proper documentation letters, forms, as requested by supervisor
  • Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events
  • Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED and 1 year of clerical or customer service experience
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer service skills and a professional demeanor to effectively interact with all levels of clients, employees and outside professional contacts
  • Must be extremely organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • High level of accuracy and confidentiality is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The AC must be able to sit for extended periods, and have the ability to lift and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must also be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public
  • The AC must also be able to move around the office as needed to perform essential job duties
