Job Summary: Plans, develops and implements quality recreation programs, events, and facility rentals. Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for ensuring participants receive a quality recreational experience in a safe environment within the City of Fridley s recreation programming and rentals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Recreation Program Lead Instructor - $16/hour 1. Creates and executes lesson plans for Recreation Programs. 2. Teaches and interacts with participants. 3. Leads program instructors. 4. Chaperones off-site field trips. 5. Communicates regularly with parents/guardians, participants, and the public. 2. Documents any incidents/accidents, maintenance issues, and/or complaints and reports them immediately to their supervisor. Recreation Facility Monitor - $16/hour 1. Opens and closes building securely. 2. Sets up and takes down equipment. 3. Processes transactions related to programming within facility. 4. Assists with programs or special events. 5. Greets and answers patron s questions. 6. Monitor building to provide support and assist with troubleshooting any issues and concerns. Recreation League Score Keeper - $16/hour 1. Tracks scores for various sports leagues. 2. Works with referees and teams to collect rosters, track penalties, report scores and record league information. 3. Monitors parks/fields/courts to provide support and assist with troubleshooting any issues and concerns. 4. Documents any incidents/accidents, maintenance issues and/or complaints and reports them immediately to their supervisor. Recreation Special Events - $16/hour 1. Monitors event to provide support and assist with troubleshooting any issues and concerns. 2. Special Event duties may include set-up/clean-up, communication with participants, instructors/contractors, and the public, taking of tickets/attendance, etc. 3. Leads other seasonal staff in special event duties. Recreation Program Instructor - $14/hour? 1. Instructing prepared lesson plans. 2. Playing and interacting with children.? 3. Chaperoning off-site field trips and assisting with Special Events. 4. Communicating regularly with parents/guardians. 5. Youth instruction includes but is not limited to: Sports, Arts/Crafts, Games, etc. 6. This is an active position that involves work in varying conditions: outdoors in parks, indoor classrooms/gym, and off-site field trip locations.
