We are looking for Seasonal Bartenders to join our team! We are now hiring for the holidays! Seasonal employment runs November through January. Must be available 3-4 days a week.

The Bartender's primary responsibility is producing, creating, and improving, drinks, and assembles the requested drinks into the required glassware, as part of the bar process before passing the order along to the guests. The Bartender follows and ensures compliance with food safety handling policies and maintains an organized and hygienic work area, including personal hygiene procedures. The Bartender must be thoroughly familiar with Lawry's professional and friendly service including: menu items, cash controls, suggestive selling techniques, appearance standards and guest interaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Consistently and sufficiently meet Lawry's standards, as an ambassador of the restaurant with our guests, including inspiring the "WOW Factor" level of service, providing and exuding quality, professionalism, positive guest relations, and first class entertainment and performance.
  • Comply with all of Lawry's employment related policies and procedures; including accurate records of hours worked, breaks, and tip income in TMX, communication of shift changes, tardiness or absence; and behavior consistent with the company's desire to maintain a workplace free of incidents of co-worker harassment, discrimination, drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Ensures bar is well stocked and set up at beginning of shift with fresh-cut garnishes, pre-mixes, liquors, beers, wines, straws, beverage napkins, coasters and other supplies.
  • Responsible for counting and verifying funds of bar bank at beginning of shift and reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Completes a blind checkout at the end of the shift with a manager and turns all receipts collected.
  • Greet and accommodate individual and special needs of guests along with the Dining Room Server in a confident, well-spoken and succinct manner, while following Lawry's standard operating procedures for delivery of the finest dining and entertainment experience to our guests.
  • Prepares drinks for customers using proper bartending techniques, recipes and glassware; and accountable for all cash and credit card transactions at the bar from customers. Responsible for collecting proper payment from guests and securing all receipts (cash, credit card vouchers, gift cards).
  • Offers to transfer bar tabs to dining room for guests waiting in the bar for a table.
  • Sincerely thanks guests as they are leaving and invites them to return.
  • Anticipates and recognizes when a guest could become intoxicates and stops service in a professional manner.
  • Respects and maintains Company property and assets.
  • Maintains proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits, particularly in relation to knife handling.
  • Maintains a safe workplace by keeping the bar area organized, neat, and clean throughout the shift. Keeps back bar clean, organized and visually appealing, and bar equipment in working order and cleaned ongoing.
  • Keeps tools, machines and bar equipment in good working order, and stocks and arranges bar glassware and bottles.
  • Works efficiently, accurately and quickly to expedite the guests' orders.
  • Contributes to meeting unit food cost goals through portion and waste control.
  • Follows all state liquor laws and company ServSafe Alcohol policies, including proper ID checking, responsible beverage service and ensuring no one under 21 is in the bar unless accompanied by a legal guardian. Persons under 21 are not permitted to sit directly at the bar.
  • Assists other co-workers and departments with their duties as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English in an above average manner both with co-workers and guests, including writing orders, requests, reservations, or instructions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Lawry's Restaurants, including family history, locations, service and meal hours, and frequent diner benefits.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the menu items to assist guests in their wine, meal and dessert selections, using informed, tantalizing descriptions and effective selling techniques.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork and cooperation with co-workers, management, vendors and/or suppliers.
  • Demonstrate competency in POS and TMX computer systems, and basic math calculations.
  • Be dressed in a clean, designated uniform and acceptable footwear, ready to begin at start of all scheduled shifts, and work until the end of scheduled shifts, unless authorized by management for approved shift or work schedule change.
  • From time to time, assumes other co-worker's duties during off-peak hours when staff is reduced
  • Attend all mandatory co-worker meetings, training, informational and education sessions.
  • Reports all damaged or malfunctioning fixtures and equipment to the Manager on duty promptly.
  • Reports all accidents or unsafe conditions to the Manager on duty immediately.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Shows confidence, energy, and enthusiasm with a professional, clean appearance, and a friendly, helpful, approachable demeanor.
  • Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform the requirement of the job, and to work with the public in compliance with applicable foodservice health and safety regulations.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position with or without reasonable accommodation, and within company policy.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to eight (8) hours during a shift (with limited breaks); carry up to 30 lbs. and exert up to 50 lbs. of force without straining; and sustain repetitive motions of legs, feet, waist, back, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Able to raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position.
  • Knowledge of wines, vintages, and wine pairings, as well as proper handling and storage of wines, and use of bottle opener (i.e. cork-screw and foil-cutter).
  • Knowledge of beers, spirits, and cocktails.
  • Be available and willing to work all scheduled shifts within the priority scheduling and seniority systems as established at each location, including working weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, leading and communicating with others, able to express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English in an average manner.
  • Good math proficiency, and knowledge of cash handling.
  • Able to wear required uniform.
  • Able to listen and follow instructions carefully.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Capable of following key recipes.
  • Legal age to serve alcohol beverages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience:
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience as a Bartender in a high end dinning establishment is required. Must be able to read scales.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current Local/State Food Handler's Training Certifications as required.
  • Current Local/State Alcohol Beverage Service Training Certifications as required.


Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers POS system, calculators and touch screens.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.Some college or culinary education beneficial.

Hourly Rate- $17.28/hr
