Are you ready to Innovate, Explore, and Protect? Work with a team of writers, editors, and production designers to ensure our documents are free of grammatical errors and meet our guidelines. As a main priority, the selectee will proofread contractor-produced technical documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax; and ensure documents comply with required style guides. Documents include test plans, test reports, studies, and briefing materials. Documents may be classified or unclassified. As a secondary priority, the selectee will manage the organization's document library. Responsibilities include writing abstracts of historical and new documents and updating the document archive database. The activity also includes scanning historical hard-copy documents as well as identifying locations of missing documents. Convert technical language/text to compliant, compelling, and readable proposal language/text Support and eventually individually generate a compliant proposal outline based on solicitation instructions Edit disparate content, usually generated by multiple authors, into cohesive proposal document Able to perform Tech Edits or Desktop Publishing such as, but not limited to, the following: Correct grammar Perform spell check Perform proofreading Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Able to create and format visually appealing Microsoft Word templates and Excel documents in compliance with RFP requirements Expert in Microsoft Word. Skilled in formatting Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint documents Skilled in use of SharePoint Skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro for creating PDFs, and comparing and merging files Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team Must be detail orientated, well organized, and able to strictly adhere to product schedules Willing and able to work overtime and weekends, as required, to meet proposal schedule Required Experience: 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience. Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language. Proficiency with desktop publishing software such as Adobe products and Microsoft Office suite. Ability to manage time and effort across multiple simultaneous projects. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Preferred Experience: 5 years of demonstrated experience in proofing others' work and providing constructive feedback. Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or English. Experience with Government writing focused on a Senior-Leader audience. Proficiency with applying principles of style guides, such as the Government Publishing Office (GPO) and Department of Defense (DoD) Issuance Style Guide.
