Job Description

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking two skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) for the Operating Room (OR) in Anacortes, Washington. This role is essential for providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during surgery.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field and ensure all necessary equipment is available and functioning.
  • Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
  • Assist in coordinating patient flow and collaborating with surgical staff to ensure efficient operations.
Unit Details
  • Operating Rooms: 4 OR suites (typically run 3), 1 endoscopy suite.
  • Average Cases per Day: 20-21 cases.
  • Common Cases:
  • Orthopedic procedures (hips, knees, shoulders, ortho spine)
  • TLIF, hernias, lap chole
  • Obstetric (OB), Gynecological (GYN), hysteroscopy, hysterectomy
  • Urology (cysto, prostate), ENT (twice a month), pediatric cases (tubes, tonsils, adenoids), endoscopy.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of solid OR experience preferred; endoscopy and orthopedic experience required.
  • Scrubbing required: No.
  • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: No house supervisor; coordinator available as needed. Charge nurse assists with flow and charges.
Additional Information
  • Shifts: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; typically 4-10 hour shifts.
  • Weeknight/Call Requirements: 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM; 4 days a month.
  • Weekend/Call Requirements: 24-hour call; at least one weekend day per month (Saturday or Sunday).
  • Holiday Requirements: Department closed on major holidays; on-call as needed.
  • Call Response Time: 30 minutes.
  • Floating Requirements: Ability to float to PACU preferred but not required.
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided by the facility.
