We are currently partnered up with an Aerospace Manufacturing Company in their search for an EHS Manager to join the team. This position will report up in to the General Manager and will oversee a 140 employee site. The ideal candidate will have a strong Environmental background as that will be 60-70% of the job while Safety & Health make up the remaining percentage. The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs with a strong focus on environmental compliance and sustainability. Description
The EHS Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability (70%)
Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, local laws) by maintaining required permits, records, and reporting systems. Environmental Programs : Develop and oversee environmental programs, including air quality management, water and wastewater treatment, hazardous waste handling, and pollution prevention. Sustainability Initiatives : Lead efforts to minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing activities by implementing waste reduction, energy conservation, and recycling programs. Audits & Reporting : Conduct environmental compliance audits and risk assessments, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports for local and federal agencies as well as internal stakeholders. Carbon Footprint & Emissions Reduction : Identify opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lead initiatives for carbon footprint reduction in line with corporate sustainability goals. Training & Awareness : Develop and deliver environmental training programs for employees to build awareness and ensure compliance across departments.
Health & Safety Management (30%)
Safety Programs : Design, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety programs, including job safety analysis, ergonomic assessments, and safety audits. Risk Management : Conduct hazard assessments and incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Emergency Response : Develop and manage emergency response plans, including chemical spill response and fire safety protocols. Training & Development : Provide health and safety training to employees, supervisors, and contractors, focusing on accident prevention, PPE, and safe working practices. Profile The EHS Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing will ideally have the following qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience : Minimum of 4 years of EHS management experience, ideally within aerospace manufacturing or a related industry. Certifications : Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other relevant EHS certifications are preferred. Knowledge : Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and OSHA standards. Familiarity with ISO 14001/45001 standards is a plus. Skills : Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
