Dental Hygienist

We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat our wonderful patients and promote outstanding oral health practices. We are a family owned dental practice (since 1981) in the great small community of Albany, CA and looking for an upbeat, professional and friendly person to join our team. What do our Dental Hygienists do? Dental Hygienists in our office conduct initial patient screenings, clean teeth (of course), take X-Rays and advise patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll help the dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and occasionally handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules along with a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. Potential schedule and Office Hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-4:00pm; Fridays from 8:00am-2:00pm. Patients are scheduled for 1 hour and you will see 7 patients per day (Monday-Thursday) and 6 patients per day on Fridays. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures Take X-rays or dental impressions Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer) Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Sterilize dental instruments properly Monitor supplies Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist (preferred) In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Diploma in Dental Hygiene Valid license to practice Please call or email to inquire:
