Project Engineer

ITS is seeking a hands-on engineer to support the qualification of new injection mold tools and establish manufacturing standards. This role involves continuous improvement of current processes, products, and systems with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Collaboration with the quality department to certify new and existing processes, as well as providing training and plant floor support, is key. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Ensure safe practices in a manufacturing environment and adherence to all plant safety procedures. Participate in part design reviews, emphasizing design for manufacturability (DFMEA). Inspect, test, and modify new tooling to establish stable processes ready for production. Assist the engineering team in transitioning new projects to manufacturing. Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor, focusing on process optimization, quality, and efficiency, while achieving measurable ROI. Provide support to production operations, including troubleshooting molds, performing repairs, and managing preventive maintenance (PM) or refurbishments. Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and apply visual controls and standard operating procedures within the department. Collaborate with plant management to enhance safety initiatives. Flexibility to work extended hours or travel domestically and internationally to meet objectives.
Requirements:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Plastic Project Engineer with
extrusion experience required . 4+ years of process engineering experience in a plastics manufacturing environment preferred. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge of process setup, injection molding equipment, robotics, molds, and heat control systems. Proficient with analysis tools, including Six Sigma, Control Charting, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and SPC. Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings. Analytical problem-solving skills with a proven ability to resolve manufacturing challenges using both modern and legacy equipment. Apply Now for immediate consideration!!
