What is my day to day like?

As our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) buyer you will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the inventory of the maintenance crib as well as efficiently sourcing, quoting, and procuring essential parts, materials, and services for the Maintenance Department. Your day-to-day will include but is not limited to:

Crib Maintenance
  • Monitoring stocking levels, proactively reordering materials to maintain inventory levels.
  • Initiating material orders to support open work orders, ensuring seamless workflow within the department.
  • Implementation of systematic processes to oversee the reception, processing, and proper payment for parts, maintaining accurate records.
  • Supervise the Parts Crib Attendant, overseeing tasks such as generating stable cycle count reports and maintaining an organized parts crib.
  • Ensure purchase orders adhere to Sabert's standards and industry norms, facilitating the timely delivery of desired materials and services.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify alternatives, manage obsolete parts, and negotiate favorable prices and lead times, optimizing procurement efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain parts refurbishment lists and process
Master Data Maintenance
  • Administering and update the supplier list within SAP, ensuring accurate and current information.
  • Maintaining parts list in SAP with proper nomenclature and threshold levels and proactively incorporate new parts into the system as required.
  • Maintaining records of savings monthly thru excel
Supplies
  • Maintaining the inventory levels of maintenance supplies and reorder as needed
Other
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
  • Maintain a Daily updated status on all open POs
What makes a person successful in this position.
  • 5+ years' experience in working manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and follow all Safety and GMP requirements
  • Knowledge of various MRO commodities and their use in maintenance applications
  • Experience with SAP and inventory management
  • Organization, time management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment including current compliance requirements for safety and quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Software such as Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook
