Program Associate

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton is recruiting for a full-time Program Associate. The Program Associate is responsible for working with the program team to coordinate activities and resources in support of various projects that impact multiple foundation work areas. Responsibilities include:
- Accompanying program officers on proposal review site visits and drafting staff summaries for the Distribution Committee
- Researching topics related to the Foundation's strategic plan.
- Providing technical assistance to applicants and grantees.
- Working with program staff on goals and strategies based on the Foundation's strategic plan.
The Program Associate will be expected to take full responsibility for certain projects throughout the year and assist with other projects as assigned. The Program Associate will participate in all staff, program, and community-based committees as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with assigned program officers on proposal reviews, site visits, staff summaries, and funding recommendations.
- Review progress and final grantee reports and provide feedback to grantees as needed.
- Utilize existing mechanisms to communicate project challenges and/or successes.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of grantee workshops and trainings as assigned.
- Respond to applicant and grantee requests for technical assistance, and provide guidance as needed.
- Work with the President and other program staff to research, develop, and implement new foundation-led initiatives or proactive strategic collaborations as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with Grants and Operations Manager to oversee grant activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Grants and Operations Manager and other staff to monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and review budget modification requests.
- Assist the President in the preparation of communication related materials, such as meeting minutes, newsletters, annual reports, and other publications, as assigned.
- Participate in Foundation staff meetings.
- Attend community-based meetings and special events and participate in collaborative work within the community as assigned.
- Assist the designated Program Officer on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work
- Pursue an approved continuing program of personal and professional development.
- Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Mission-oriented and committed to the philosophy and values of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and the Foundation
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and team-related skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to synthesize information
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a wide variety of constituents
- Ability to work on a variety of projects and programs and adhere to time schedules
- Excellent computer proficiency, including standard Microsoft Office applications
