Sr. Product Manager – Technical (PMT), Kuiper Government Solutions

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Project Kuiper’s Government Solutions (KGS) is to leverage Kuiper and provide high speed, low latency, and secure satellite broadband services to United States and allied government customers. This position will be working within the Product Management Team within Kuiper Government Solutions.Key job responsibilitiesSr Product Manager – Technical to support the Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) team focusing on DoD and National Security customers. This position will be part of the KGS team defining and managing a family of products for special ground gateways within Project Kuiper’s broadband space network for very high throughput broadband communications. This is a unique opportunity to innovate and define groundbreaking communications technology with few legacy constraints. This team also works closely with the engineering team to ensure that the product will meet customer requirements and presents a good business opportunity.• Write product roadmaps, product description documents, and engineering requirements documents for products• Create detailed product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of the specific customer verticals (local, state, federal, DoD, intelligence community) including use case prioritization, feature definition • Work with leadership team to set the customer strategy and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs• Manage entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution and work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver on that vision• Establish goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraintsSecurity Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, so you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.Basic qualifications- Bachelor's degree- 8+ years of experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition- 8+ years of experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product- 8+ years of experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product- 8+ years of experience managing technical products or online services- 5+ years of experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planningPreferred qualification - Master’s or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Communications Systems, related discipline, or equivalent experience- Familiarity with satellite systems and operations- Optical Communications System design, architecture, and system integration background or solid understanding- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this roleAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market.
