Who We Are Looking For:
Harper Engineering Co. is looking for someone with CMM Programming and FAI experience to join our Quality Assurance Team. As a key member of the Quality team the CMM-FAI Technician will be responsible for ensuring product requirements are met and documented properly within CMM and/or AS9102 reports. The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish priorities and schedules to meet dates based on internal/external customer needs.
Job Summary
The CMM-FAI Technician ensures product compliance and customer confidence. Through the measurement of production parts to 3D models they'll generate dimensional as well as AS9102 reports when needed to ensure the full compliance of Harper's processes to product requirements. They will work closely with other departments to enhance product and process quality. The role will support the QA inspection team as well through knowledge of GD&T and model interpretation. This position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform CMM programming and inspection of product for Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspection
- Maintain and improve current CMM programs on legacy product
- Perform First Article and In-Process Inspections
- Populate and maintain Inspection records and First Article Inspections as required by work instructions or aerospace standards
- Upload of FAI data into Customer or Harper specified database such as Net-Inspect
- Inspect parts using handheld M&TE and visual techniques
- Proficient in the use of optical comparator, surface plates, height gages, drop gages, micrometer, and other precision equipment
- Accept / Reject parts based on quality plans
- Process parts physically and electronically using Harper Engineering software - Generate NCRs for discrepant parts
- Work with supervisors / leads on corrective and preventative actions, as well as root cause analysis of issues with parts
- Provide material testing support as required
- Key liaison between Engineering, Quality Engineering and Manufacturing on quality problems and requirements resulting from First Article and In-Process Inspections
- Other duties as assigned

Salary Description
$60,000 - $75,000
