Job Description:
- Legal Specialist monitors proceedings of the Public Utility Commission of Texas and other state and federal agencies, prepares and files procedural and regulatory filings, calculates and calendars deadlines for procedural and regulatory filings, and assists in administering Market Participant registration matters including assisting with the client membership registration process.
- Assists with the client Board of Directors meetings on an as needed basis.
- Assists the Legal Department with myriad matters concerning regulatory filings and monitoring, and Market Participant registration
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analysing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
- Must be comfortable working on assignments that are often routine in nature while maintaining a high rate of accuracy
- Must have great attention to detail
- Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed
- Monitors and prepares daily reports of industry filings submitted in relevant Public Utility Commission of Texas and federal proceedings
- Monitors and prepares reports on public filings that may impact existing regulatory requirements
- Handles routine filings with state and federal agencies and courts
- Assists with the membership registration process
- Receives and review Market Participant applications and supporting documents, contracts, information change forms, and other reporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper signatures
- Assists with ensuring timely and accurate processing of a wide array of Market Participant registration matters as required
- May act as liaison with Market Participants, Board of Directors, and Corporate Members as necessary to perform job duties
- Assists with the Board of Directors meetings
- Requires minimum 2 years applicable/job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
- Associate's Degree (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
