At Wallenius Wilhelmsen and across our businesses, salaries are determined by position, level, location, and similar factors. The pay or salary range listed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum projected rate of pay for the specific position across our United States locations. Equally as important, as a team member, individual earnings may consider knowledge, skills, abilities, work location and related factors. The current starting hourly pay for this position is $21.50 - $23.00. Wallenius Wilhelmsen team members are also eligible for annual merit-based salary adjustments, and participation in competitive benefit programs. Some roles in the company may offer an additional annual bonus. Additional details on salary or pay ranges and benefits will be available through the interview and employment process. Salary or pay ranges are separate from bonus opportunities and/or benefit plans. Keen, a Wallenius Wilhelmsen company, is seeking Heavy Equipment Assembler at our equipment processing center in Tacoma, WA.

Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assemble heavy equipment using hand, electric, and air-powered tools
- Unpackage, install, and remove machine parts
- Drive and operate equipment including backing up, tilting or raising or lowering attachments or other machine movements to facilitate proper assembly
- Assist mechanics with the installation of larger components
- Operate forklift for loading, unloading, or moving pieces or machines in the work area
- Walk the yard area to inspect, inventory, or identify machinery and/or pieces
- Clean cabs and other various duties
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Basic mechanical skills required
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment , forklifts, overhead cranes
- Basic computer skills
- Physical ability:
- Frequent lifts and carrying of up to 50 pounds for distances of 50 feet, including overhead lifting
- Climbing to and working at heights of up to 15 feet
- Sufficient hand dexterity and strength to fasten, insert, and remove bolts, machine parts and pins, operate and withstand impact and vibration of electric and air-powered power tools
- Capable of work outside in all reasonable weather conditions
- Steel toe boots/shoes
- Current Valid drivers license
- GED/High School diploma preferred
