To strengthen our team in Home Office,
we are looking for you as a(n) Business Development Manager Food.

The Business Development Manager will lead the initiatives for the Food Industry. The position includes all necessary measures regarding the lifecycle management of the existing product portfolio to research and identify new opportunities within current markets, achieve the maximum economic value for the company. This includes strategy development for the existing portfolio, opening new markets, develop new applications, innovative product line extensions, strategic pricing, and regulatory approvals.

This position will work in the NCA Region to identify, develop, create demand and recruit new customers to drive Food business opportunities for the Business Unit. Define the opportunities using data driven internal selling as well as developing the business plan, understanding the competitive landscape, identifying IP/FTO, as well as identify and establish supply chain capabilities and regulatory requirements. The Business Development Manager may also be responsible for Initiating and managing technical projects via the Project Selection Process, or PSI, managing the non-food project portfolio and Marcom activities.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Manage existing and new food projects, within the SCM, developing Business Models, Marcom, an understanding of the competitive landscape, guidance on the Regulatory situation, IP & FTO, and Supply Chain / Production possibilities.
  • Provides the necessary 'Technical Expertise' and Production Support for Food projects and identify and establish Supply Chain capabilities
  • Regionally identifies and defines new Food Business opportunities, in new markets, or with new products, creating demand and recruiting new potential customers or markets
  • Portfolio Management of the existing portfolio with strategy development, strategic pricing, regulatory guidance, volume planning etc.
  • Presenting opportunities and projects using expertise with advanced, compiled trend setting concepts and practices
  • Provides aggregated market and competitor analysis by collecting basic data from sales, PM etc. and coordinates Food Marcom activities
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field or Food Science is required
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience required
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Expereince working in an international and cross functional environment in technical marketing
  • Technical project management experience and proven track record in business development
  • Expereince working in diverse areas of Food markets
  • Technical presentation expereince to customers selling products in a highly technical environment
  • Contract, pricing and specification negotiation for supplier agreement expereince both domestic and international
  • Expereince managing/working in a commercial laboratory
  • Experience negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specification to customers
  • B2B sales experience selling to middle managers and C level contacts
  • Experience working with SAP and CRM databases
  • Regulatory basic understanding
  • Capability to work in a global environment, intercultural skills
