Why does the job exist?
This position will provide evidence-based screening, assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy to incarcerated juveniles. This position will access and evaluate diagnostic and behavioral therapeutic programs. This position will develop and implement evidence-based treatment for juveniles in our custody. Experience working with male and female adolescents, trauma informed treatment, and experience working with violent offenders is preferred.
How does it get done?
Provide evidence-based screening, assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy to incarcerated juveniles. This position will access and evaluate diagnostic and behavioral therapeutic programs. This position will be required to develop and implement evidence-based interventions in a continuum of care of juveniles.
Who are the customers?
Clients who are adjudicated to a JJS facility.
Ideal Candidate
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work and New Mexico Licensure as a LMSW, LISW, LPCC, LMHC, LMFT or LPAT. A Provisional LMSW, Provisional LISW, Temporary LPCC, Temporary LMHC, Temporary LMFT or Temporary LPAT will also meet minimum qualification.
Minimum Qualification
Licensure in New Mexico as an LMSW, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or LPAT and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
Employment Requirements
Must possess a current and valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Correctional setting with potential risk from juvenile actions. This position requires on-call and flexible hours. Some travel may be required.
