The Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective utilization of the maintenance team to address plant processes, equipment, and facility upkeep. With a collaborative "One Team, One Mission" approach, this position works across shifts and departments (Utilities, Production, Planning, Safety) to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce HACCP, USDA, and food safety protocols.

Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective utilization of the maintenance team to address plant processes, equipment, and facility upkeep. With a collaborative "One Team, One Mission" approach, this position works across shifts and departments (Utilities, Production, Planning, Safety) to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce HACCP, USDA, and food safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of a 5-20 member maintenance team, ensuring optimal job performance and adherence to safety procedures.
- Collaborating across shifts and departments to support consistent production, minimize downtime, and enforce regulatory compliance.
- Leading and managing diversified maintenance activities, including planned repairs, projects, and preventative maintenance.
- Investigating and completing failure analysis on work order challenges, and implementing preventive measures.
- Providing cost estimates, scope of work, and progress reports for new projects.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, GMPs, SOPs, SSPs, HACCP, and SQF.
- Serving as a member of the HACCP Team and providing backup support to Maintenance/Utilities Manager and Supervisors.
What is Required (Don't hesitate even if you are 60% qualified)
- Three or more years' experience in Industrial Mechanics or a related position OR an Industrial Mechanics degree/equivalent technical diploma with 5 years of plant maintenance experience.
- 1+ year in a leadership and/or project management role.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including professional oral and written communication, a team-focused approach, and the ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
- Regulatory compliance knowledge, including USDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety (SQF).
- Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience in food manufacturing facilities, especially in poultry.
- After one year, certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center.
- After three years, achievement of operator 2 certification from an Ammonia Refrigeration training center.
