The Warehouse Operation Operator is responsible for carrying out day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping inventory. This role ensures that goods are handled safely and efficiently, inventory is accurately managed, and operations comply with company policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving Goods:
- Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate documentation of received goods and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Organize, store, and label products in their designated locations in the warehouse.
- Ensure accurate stock counts and update inventory systems as needed.
- Retrieve items from storage based on customer orders or production needs.
- Ensure that the correct quantity and type of product are picked and prepared for packing.
- Safely pack orders, ensuring all items are properly secured and labeled for shipping.
- Coordinate with the shipping team to prepare items for transport, including palletizing if necessary.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently to move products within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety regulations and keeping aisles and workspaces free of hazards.
- Adhere to safety protocols for handling heavy and fragile items.
- Conduct final inspections of orders before shipping to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Report any damaged or missing items to supervisors.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities, including receiving, stock movement, and shipping transactions.
- Update the warehouse management system (WMS) accordingly.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and logistics teams to ensure efficient operations and meet shipping deadlines.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving warehouse processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar role preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and computer skills for data entry.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 30 pounds.
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various warehouse environments (e.g., cold storage, high shelving).
