Position:
The Decanter has an essential function in the company's food safety chain. All received fruits, vegetables, herbs etc. must undergo a specific sanitation process before they are getting processed. Dry goods must be decanted from cardboard. The decanter is responsible to ensure the food safety processes and maintaining the food safety chain documentation.
The decanter also assists the logistic & supply chain team when the decanting job is completed.
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Essential functions:
- Decant and sanitize all fruits, vegetables, herbs etc.
- Decanting dry goods
- Measuring and maintaining all food safety documentation
- Measuring and maintaining sanitizer chemical concentrations
- Stock shelfs, refill items
- Loading, unloading, moving, heavy items, bulk products
- Conditioning shelves and products
- Keeping work area clean and sanitized, including walk in refrigerators and freezers
- Maintaining waste logs
- Assisting logistic and supply chain team

Requirements
Requirements, but not limited to: This position requires flexible work schedules within a 24/7 work environment. The airline catering industry is a seasonal business and certain peak times of the year are black out periods for PTO (paid time off), e.g. year end, summer. This position requires experience in food safety, sanitization, as well as filling out paperwork pertaining to the traceability of the product.
Qualifications
- Experience within a similar role in the food industry
- Knowledge of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and dry goods
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to obtain TSA and Customs and Border Patrol clearance
- Must be able to lift, move and manipulate heavy items daily
- Ability to work in refrigerated workspace daily
- Bilingual Engl./Span. is a big plus
- Team player that assists others when needed
- Reliability and punctuality are key
- Forklift certification is a big plus
- Experience with pallet jack operations
- Being highly productive
