Job Summary
**FIRST REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS NOVEMBER 26TH
The Mental Health Professional-Outpatient Therapist provides diagnostic assessments and ongoing outpatient psychotherapy to eligible Rice County residents with a specialization in children, youth and parents. They provide consultation for Social Services staff and offer recommendations for meeting the mental health needs of their clients. They serve as a community resource consulting with other Rice County departments, community partners, schools, and other organizations throughout the region.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Worker or related human services field, licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Mental Health Professional, and three to five years of clinically supervised experience. A valid MN Driver's License is required upon hire. Key job characteristics include extensive knowledge of severe emotional issues experiences by children and youth, knowledge of community resources, ability to remain calm in crisis and de-escalate emotional situations, excellent oral and written communication skills, good details and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain positive, effective work relationships with others.
Supplemental Information
HIRING RANGE / UNION: $35.45 - $37.14 per hour / SS Unit - Grade 13
HOURS: Normal working hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, full-time hours equal 40 hours per week.

- Performs psychotherapy, testing and crisis interventions specializing in children, youth and parents.
- Completes and maintains required documentation including time reporting for internal purposes.
- Participates on committees and completes outreach duties including public speaking and training (as assigned).
- Attends training sessions, staff meetings, and community meetings.
- Provides consultation to Social Services staff, other Rice County Departments, and outside agencies on mental health related issues.
- Provide clinical supervision for case managers within Social Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned
