Permanent Transfer: Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as an Office Assistant 1 Stores/Mail G-6, OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent- permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a salary Grade-4 or above and eligible for transfer to an Office Assistant 1 Stores/Mail, Grade-6 under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

NYHELPS: There are no minimum education or experience requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidate must have experience working in a fast paced medical or scientific stockroom setting and working as part of a team. Candidate must be able to lift items in excess of 25lbs and have experience utilizing pallet moving equipment.
Duties Description Under the direct supervisor of a Principal Laboratory Worker, G11, the incumbent will provide director support to the Wadsworth Center's centralize Glassware Unit. Processing incoming and outgoing glassware, stockpots, and laundry. Operate the autoclaves, dishwashers, and electric ovens to sterilize glassware. Fills glassware orders. Collect, decontaminate, and prepare shipments. Brings shipments to and from the loading dock. Maintain and update files.
Additional Comments Permanent, competitive, full-time. Transfer candidates may be asked for SSN to verify title history and eligibility.
This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
