Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and operation of Recreation events, birthday parties, classes, and activities. Requiring frequent weekend and evening hours, this position assists with event organizing, volunteer supervision, leading activities, customer service, and event set up and tear down.

We are looking for applicants to specifically work birthday parties at this time. Hours worked will include weekends.

Examples of Essential Duties

Assists in the execution of a variety of Recreation events, birthday parties, classes, and activities.

Facilitates games and activities in the event space including but not limited to climbing, in-line skating, basketball, volleyball, soccer, kickball, dodgeball, flag football, softball, swimming, etc.

Readies the event space; cleans the area, sets up necessary equipment and supplies.

Discusses activities and event schedule with patrons, as directed.

Assists in resolving patron issues and complaints; accommodates reasonable requests.

Oversees the timing of events and related activities.

Tears down the event space; clears and cleans the general area, breaks down event equipment, ensures overall cleanliness of the event space.

Provides event coordination, supporting events and activities on evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Adheres to and enforces the Town of Parker's and the Parks, Recreation & Open Space's policies and procedures.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES:
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be 16 years of age or older.

Possession of or the ability to obtain a Belay certification on Fieldhouse Climbing Wall within ninety (90) days of hire.

An equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skill in the provision of customer service.

Skill in managing multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.

Ability to facilitate group activities.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, Town officials, community organizers, the public and promoters.

Ability to work under and adhere to deadlines, even in stressful or difficult situations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

Ability to issue clear and concise verbal and/or written instructions to others and report operations verbally or in written form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Various sports equipment (games, balls, hockey sticks, etc.) radios, printers, and small hand tools.

On a rare occasion, the employee may be required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include normal vision to perform routine observation, reading and writing; moderate vision to operate equipment such as calculators, typewriters, and/or word processors; close vision for reading detailed charts or computer printouts, operating vehicles or equipment requiring depth perception.
