Job Description
AECOM has an opening for a Geologist in our Pittsburgh or Reno, Pennsylvania office to work on a variety of projects including data collection and management, site investigations and remediation.
The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in both the field and office settings. The field activities may include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, non-aqueous phase liquid, and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and subcontractor oversight, including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies. The office activities may include investigation report preparation, health and safety planning, subcontractor scope of work and bid package preparation, and oral and visual presentations to project stakeholders.
This position is expected to begin in February 2025 .

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team comprised of AECOM professionals and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
-
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
-
Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Ability to learn, understand and then supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells.
-
Ability to learn then demonstrate a primary technical role in multiple site characterization, subsurface investigation and remediation projects at multiple client sites.
-
Understand and assist with conceptual site model development.
-
Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
-
Prepare investigation reports and drawings.
-
Possess and develop technical report writing skills.
-
Proficient with basic computer programs, MS Word and MS Excel.
-
Ability to organize and lead field work tasks.
-
Subcontractor oversight experience desired.
-
Current 40-hour HAZWOPER and first aid/CPR training preferred, but not mandatory.

Prior experience with environmental investigation or remediation projects.
-
Ability to travel up to 25% to various job sites regionally.

Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $51,000.00 - $60,000.00.
