Inventory Control Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and optimization of stock levels. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting supply chain efficiency, and minimizing costs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Correct the system to reflect correct inventory levels.
- Track and analyze inventory movements and trends to identify discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to reduce loss and enhance efficiency.
- Data Analysis:
- Utilize inventory management software and tools to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and present inventory reports and forecasts to management.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates and to identify trends and recommend adjustments to inventory levels.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with purchasing, warehousing, and sales teams to coordinate inventory needs.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding inventory issues or shortages.
- Problem-Solving:
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and issues promptly.
- Develop strategies to mitigate inventory risks and reduce excess stock.
- Process Improvement:
- Assist in the training of new staff on inventory procedures and best practices.
- Assist in the development of training materials and procedures for inventory management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an inventory specialist or in a similar role.
