THE ROLE:
IBISWorld is seeking enthusiastic and passionate professionals to join a growing sales department in the booming business intelligence sector. As a key component of the greater sales cycle, the Business Development Managers are responsible for initial engagement with leads that are provided by in-house lead generation, inbounds leads, outreach tools, as well as your own hunting efforts. Because you will be the first contact with and impression of IBISWorld, passion, professionalism and strong communication skills are keys to success in this role. The role is phone-based, with the majority of outgoing calls to C-level executives with the goal of qualifying the leads, sharing IBISWorld's value proposition, building relationships, booking webinars and closing deals.
As a BDM, you will also work closely with IBISWorld Sales Directors to share your understanding of prospects' business problems, objectives and growth strategies to best consult on service solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMPENSATION: Base Salary: 90-100K (not including commission)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage prospects and scope requirements to understand their business problems, objectives and growth plans to ensure suitability of solution
- Identify prospects' pain points and match IBISWorld's Industry Research to their needs
- Work alongside Sales Directors to nurture initial client relationships and qualify prospect requirements
- Make significant outbound calls and emails daily to engage new and existing accounts
- When suitable, closing SMB / Transactional deals with smaller prospects
- Manage a pipeline and move prospects through the sales cycle
- Utilize tools such as 6sense, Outreach and Lusha to support targeted lead generation efforts
- Proactive and outside-the-box thinking for ideas and strategies to build the client base
- Develop and keep current on knowledge of products, trends and competitors in target markets
- Proactive and thorough research on target industries and companies
- Work autonomously and take ownership of your own activity and performance
- Bachelor's degree and sales experience a preference
- Solid business acumen with the ability to understand your client's business objectives and goals
- Talent for cold calling with significant "phone stamina"
- Proven success dealing directly with clientele across a variety of industries, backgrounds and levels, especially C-level executives
- Ability to manage an opportunity pipeline as well as tight deadlines
- Experience with Salesforce (or similar CRM) strongly preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize various responsibilities and deadlines
- Flexibility to effectively deal with unexpected assignments and changes to workload based on management priorities
- Ability to collaborate and work well with others, but also self-motivating and autonomous
- The ability to give product presentations (in-person or web-based) to various user groups
