This role is perfect for an engineering leader who can drive complex GPU and CPU workloads, optimize video rendering, and mentor teams in advanced HDR video processing techniques. As a Staff Engineer, you will collaborate across departments to set technical direction and execute on complex, real-time video and graphics applications, ensuring our products lead the industry in quality and performance.Responsibilities:HDR Video Processing and Pipeline Strategy:Establish and implement strategies for HDR video processing, including standards like Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG to deliver top-tier video quality.Oversee video pipeline optimization, focusing on real-time HDR playback and seamless integration across HDR displays.Technical Leadership in High-Performance Development:Lead the design, development, and optimization of high-performance software components in C++.Direct the development of complex shaders using OpenGL Shading Language, High-Level Shading Language, and DirectX 12 for advanced rendering and video processing applications.Implement SIMD programming and vectorization techniques for optimal low-level code efficiency across various platforms.Cross-Functional Collaboration and Mentorship:Serve as a senior technical advisor and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research, product, and support teams, to define technical requirements.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high-performance coding.Lead code reviews and champion best practices in performance optimization, multi-threading, and advanced video rendering techniques.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred.8+ years of experience in software development with an emphasis on C++, GPU programming, and video rendering optimizations.Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance and scalability.Expert-level experience with GPU programming and shader development (GLSL, HLSL, DX12).Advanced knowledge of multi-threading and SIMD programming techniques for high-performance applications.Proven ability to manage complex CPU/GPU workload distribution for efficient, real-time performance.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in video pipeline optimization and HDR video processing.Knowledge of color science and picture quality.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Results-oriented with a passion for learning new technologies.Self-motivated and quick learner.#LI-SW1The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $165,600 - $227,400, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
