Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding)

Job Summary:
Duties include but are not limited to: Data-basing, e-filing, managing incoming forms and outgoing releases of information. This individual will also provide support to the office functioning as a front window receptionist, handling telephone communication, and performing miscellaneous general clerical tasks (e.g. creating new medical charts, filing, processing and delivering departmental mail, chart preparation and labeling, , answering phones, and other duties as assigned). Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal skills as well as ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely & accurate manner. Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word and familiarity of medical terminology preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, theNYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspendedfor the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.

Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. 7am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday
