POSITION SUMMARY

Knapp, Schenck & Company is seeking an Assistant Account Manager to join their team in either Boston or Braintree, MA. The Assistant Account Manager will work closely with the Account Managers in providing a multitude of services to clients. Reporting directly to the Commercial Lines Manager, this position will manage day-to-day account transactions, assist with project work including marketing submissions and proposals, maintain the agency management system and client files and respond to client questions and requests, as appropriate. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Experience in the property and casualty industry is welcome but not mandatory, as there will be opportunities to learn the business through continuing education classes and regular on the job training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create marketing submissions for new and renewal business at the direction of Account Managers
  • Created proposals for clients/prospects at the direction of Account Managers
  • Build and maintain client files according to agency standards and archive client files according to agency protocol
  • Assist clients with the registration of automobiles
  • Review all client completed applications and requests for compliance with our requests and completeness according to the request
  • Populate and maintain the agency management system with client/carrier information
  • Create and transmit binders, certificates of insurance, evidence of insurance, and auto ID cards at the discretion of Account Managers
  • Request alternative premium finance proposals for client accounts
  • Transmit policies and endorsements to insured's along with corresponding invoices at the discretion of Account Managers
  • Order loss runs and similar account management materials from carriers on client accounts
  • Participate in seminars and classes for technical and professional skills and knowledge state producer's license or accreditation
  • Evaluate and prioritize your assigned portfolio in order to effectively manage client expectations. Desk management is a critical function in the prevention of E&O claims
  • Exhibit a conscious effort regarding "cost containment" in every endeavor
  • Provide backup assistance at the front desk
  • Assists with a variety of other duties as assigned including basic shared administrative tasks such a phone reception and mail distribution.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience in the property and casualty industry is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel; ability to update spreadsheets is important
  • Strong communication skills, detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task different projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, willingness to learn and being a team player is very important
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education classes in order to maintain professional credentials
