PERSONAL TOUCH RESOLUTION ACCOUNTABILITY INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL DELIVERING VALUE As the Self-Insured Benefits Analyst, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing self-funded health and welfare benefit plans. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to analyze claims data, manage vendor relationships, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support strategic decision-making processes related to employee benefits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversee detailed plan analysis for renewals and prospective clients. Prioritize and manage multiple data-related tasks efficiently to meet team and client expectations. Risk Management & Data Analytics such as claims reporting, benchmarking, claims repricing and network disruption Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost containment. Prepare detailed reports and dashboards summarizing plan performance metrics. Oversee the administration of self-insured benefit plans, including health, dental, vision, and wellness programs. Ensure the accuracy of plan documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), and communications. Collaborate with third-party administrators (TPAs), stop-loss carriers, and other vendors to ensure high service levels. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and state-specific mandates. Gather employee data, coordinate renewals, and reconcile billing statements for accuracy. Address employee inquiries regarding plan benefits, eligibility, and claims issues. Assist with employee education initiatives to enhance understanding of self-funded plans. Assume ownership and leadership of key projects within the benefits analyst team. Take charge of spearheading strategic projects, driving them from inception to successful completion. Qualifications High level of technical insurance knowledge 5 years' experience working and applicable knowledge of self-insured and fully insured Strong knowledge of self-funded benefit plans, stop-loss insurance, and related compliance requirements. Active California Life & Health Insurance License; not required but preferred Underwriting experience encourage but not required Bachelor’s degree preferred Demonstrated professional judgment and integrity Expertise in client service delivery Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client needs Excellent interpersonal skills with a polished demeanor Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, multi-task, and work well under pressure. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors are required. Ability to work and succeed in a team environment.
