Description Leidos is seeking a senior VoIP engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The team is comprised of highly technical and motivated individuals. The engineer for this role will assist in troubleshooting complex problems and implementing cutting-edge solutions. As such, this individual must be an excellent problem solver and work well in a collaborative team environment. Candidate must have proven hands-on experience working as a VoIP engineer.The program is comprised of CONUS and OCONUS teams who regularly interact across varying time zones. As a result, the engineer must have excellent communication skills and be flexible with regards to teamwork and multitasking. A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve results in a timely manner is desired.Primary Responsibilities:Install, configure, and troubleshoot Asterisk-based PBX/SBC systems, peripherals, and IP phonesMonitor entire VoIP infrastructure and provide regular reportingCollaborate with Chief Engineer on VoIP optimizationEnsure VoIP system uptime, performance, and securityDocument and enforce VoIP standardsTravel OCONUS as neededMaintain VoIP system/network in Chantilly, VA labBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, network engineering, computer science, or related subject and 12 years of experience ORMaster’s degree in telecommunications, network engineering, computer science, or related subject and 10 years of experience OR16+ years relevant work experience and combination of college coursework and certifications in lieu of degreeMust have a TS/SCI With Poly to be consideredExtensive hands-on experience with Asterisk-based VoIP systems, Session Border Controllers, and VoIP PeripheralsExtensive hands-on experience with dial plans, IVRs, SIP, IAX, RTP, DIDs, codecs and other protocolsSolid understanding of traditional telephony, PRIs, BRIs, FXO/FXS, circuit-switching, POTS, PSTN, MTSOSolid understanding of OSI model, firewalls, IP routing, IP switching, VLANS, and QOS/COSHands-on experience with network monitoring, network diagnostics, and network analytics toolsHands-on experience installing/configuring/troubleshooting serversHands-on experience with Linux operating systems, i.e., Ubuntu, CentOSAbility to work well individually, as well as within a team environment, and maintain professional behavior with all stakeholders at all timesDesired Qualifications:Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Asterisk, VoIP telecommunications, and VoIP protocolsDigium Certified Asterisk Administrator (dCAA) and/or Digium Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP)CCNA/CCNP Voice certificationOCONUS experienceOriginal Posting Date:2024-11-18While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
