Job Description Job Description POSITION TITLE Director of Financial Aid APPOINTMENT Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs LINE AND STAFF RELATIONSHIPS Directly responsible to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for overseeing the financial aid operations at River Parishes Community College, ensuring that all students have access to financial resources necessary to achieve their academic goals. This role involves strategic planning, management of financial aid programs, compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing legendary customer service to students and families. PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY Lead and manage the Financial Aid Office, including staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial aid operations. Provide strategic direction and vision of the financial aid program to support the institution’s enrollment and retention goals. Oversee the administration of federal and state financial aid programs, including grants, work-study, and loans. Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. Work in concert with Business Office staff to ensure regular reconciliation tasks are completed in a timely manner. Support Student Success Coaches and front desk staff in assisting prospective, admitted, and enrolled students in matters pertaining to the various federal, state, and local financial assistance programs. Provide information and assistance to prospective students, families, and secondary school counselors on the academic, financial, and curricular offerings of the College. Assist in the development and implementation of the computer assisted financial aid information system, including the development of on-going reports, and responding to ad hoc requests for statistical data from administration and faculty. Participate and assist in the coordination of college requirement events. Continue professional development by attending conferences and workshops. Attend and participate in college functions. Perform other duties as directed by the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree At least 3-5 years direct, and recent experience at the professional level as financial aid officer Experience in the development of a Financial Aid Office in accordance with Federal and SACS requirements Experience in developing, modifying, and managing computer-assisted student information systems to support the financial aid/admissions functions Company Description River Parishes Community College is an open admission institution that partners with the communities and businesses of the river parishes region of Louisiana to provide workforce training, certificates, diplomas, and Associate Degrees.
