This role requires not only management of around 10 employees in a production and quality control environment but also hands-on technical expertise in electronics troubleshooting, high-level soldering skills, and technical support. Type: Full-time Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Production Management: Oversee daily production activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently while managing employee scheduling to meet production demands. Oversee daily production activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. Issue, inventory, and audit production assembly kits for work orders. Implement production schedules, manage workflow, and ensure timely completion of orders. Develop, maintain and train microscope level electronic assembly processes with continuous improvement strategies in mind. Monitor production costs and strive to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality. Provide employees with relevant feedback regarding quality, productivity, and performance on scheduled basis. Report production status or complications to director as scheduled or when necessary. Meet production delivery demands and requirements. Quality Control and Testing: Manage and direct the testing phase of production to ensure products conform to specified standards. Manage testing department employees scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and throughput is being met. Implement, and maintain quality assurance documentation, standards, and protocols. Conduct root cause analysis for defects or deficiencies. Initiate and lead corrective action initiatives to improve product or process flow. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced electronics troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues. Perform high-level soldering tasks for repairs, modifications, or prototype development. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to production staff to enhance their technical skills. Produce comprehensive testing processes for research and development projects. Leadership: Lead, train, and develop a team of technicians and electronic assemblers. Foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous process improvement within the team. Manage team performance, conduct reviews, and address any performance issues. Ensure all production, testing, and troubleshooting activities comply with industry standards and internal policies. Maintain accurate records of production activities and performance, testing results, and inventory levels. Qualifications: Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with good communication skills both verbal and written. Strong computer experience with programs such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and other office related programs. Expert problem-solving skills with incredible attention to details. Education: Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field or comparable experience. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an electronics manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Proven experience with PCB assembly, high-level soldering (e.g., BGA, fine-pitch components), and electronics troubleshooting. Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.). Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and systems. (RF experience desired) Certifications: IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) are desirable.
