Creative Financial Staffing has been retained by a highly reputable retail/distribution organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join their team. This role has a direct career path to Controller.
Why the Accounting Manager opportunity?
The Company: Growing retail/distribution company established over 50 years ago.
Opportunity: The CFO is seeking a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager who can grow to the Controller position in the short term.
The Exposure: This is a highly visible role that will not only report directly to the CFO but work closely with the owners of the company.

Role: The Controller will have 5 direct reports and will have "hands-on" responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company including: the preparation of the monthly financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of government and related tax returns; and financial planning.
The Accounting Managers responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise, train and mentor a staff of 1-2 individuals and manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, Expense Reports, Credit Cards, etc.)
Responsible for month end and year end close including journal entries, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and accounting consolidation
Ensure Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a recurring basis as required
Prepare monthly Financial Statements
Manage the annual external Financial Statement and benefit plan audits,
Oversee quarterly and annual Federal & State tax filings.
Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting
Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Must have owned the Month End close process
NetSuite experience highly preferred
