Pre-audits and approves administrative and program payments in the Statewide Management and Reporting Tool (SMART) system, ensures proper coding of but not limited to the supplier, program, account, service location, funding, purchase order/ contract number and payment amount; Pre-audits and approves procurement card transactions in SMART, ensures the proper coding of but not limited to, program, account, service location, funding, purchase order and amount; Pre-audits and enters all travel and expense reports into SMART, ensures the proper coding of but not limited to program, account, service location, funding and payment amount; Enters travel authorizations. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - General: High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year experience in professional accounting/auditing work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency; Valid Driver's License is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 - 2 years' experience in professional accounting procedures and practices, fiscal or management analysis, auditing processes, fund management, and PeopleSoft Enterprise or similar accounting software.
Knowledge o f basic budgeting and accounting principles .
Proficient skills in usage of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), email and internet with an intermediate to advanced sk ill level in Excel specifically ( experience with creating spreadsheets, tables, charts and/or graphs; formatting, functions and/or formulas ).
Ability to work independently and as a team member ; Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written communication ; Ability to proofread and edit grammar, spelling, syntax , and style ; Ability to utilize critical thinking skills , gather and analyze data , detect discrepancies , and interpret written material for application to daily work.
Ability to identify, share , and be receptive to new ideas.
Ability to communicate fiscal concepts and instructions to supervisor and staff.
Ability to prepare a variety of written document ation including fiscal reports .
Ability to cope with time-pressured deadlines and adapt to change.
Ability to organize work, multi-task and perform work accurately.

Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
