Mission of the Position
Allonnia is seeking talented and detail-oriented data analyst to join our dynamic technical team. In this role, you will focus on data extraction, processing, management and visualization of experimental results from mineral processing and water treatment. You will work in close collaboration with scientists, engineers, and data scientists to help derive meaningful insights from data. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainability, environmental science, data, and working collaboratively with a fast-paced team. In this essential role, you will be creating high-quality data visualizations that are crucial for making data driven decisions. This role will be a 6 month co-op from January to June 2025.
Key Criteria/Requirements • Pursuing a degree in earth science, environmental engineering, geologist with an interest in data science and statistics • Understanding of data science best practices (including data cleaning, mining, analysis, and visualization) • Experience with Python or R • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex, real-world problems. • Chemistry, statistics, data science, and/or biology background is a plus • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in team environment • Experience with AWS is preferred, but not required • Communicate effectively and adapt to various backgrounds while adhering to data ethics and data privacy compliance.
