Job Description
We are currently working with a leading manufacturer of precision CNC manufacturing cutting tools looking for an Applications Engineer to be based out of your area, traveling the region of the surrounding states. A bit about the company: For over 40 years, they have been a leading producer of cutting machine tools worldwide, making top-of-the-line CNC machines, 5-axis, etc. They are recession-durable with global operations nationally and internationally. • Applications engineers travel Weekly, installs, and maintain great relationships with customers.
• Provide technical support in person or over the phone for customers, sales, and trade shows for CNC Machines.
• Design and fabricate fixtures/ work holding for demos, test cuts, and turnkeys.
• Conduct time estimates for customer parts with a 10% tolerance.
• Complete time studies, test cuts, and machine demonstrations per customer requirements.
• Generate CNC programs for parts processing using CAPPS conversational programming, industry-standard CAM systems, and direct G-Code/ Macro programming.
• Set up CNC machines with program, tooling, workpiece, and fixtures, including 5-axis and mill-turn. Set up and program a CMM.
• Inspection of finished parts for quality and accuracy. Generate engineering reports and technical documentation. Frequent communication with internal technical staff, external customers, and external suppliers.
Credentials desired:
• BS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred, and/or machining knowledge. Min 2 to 10+ years of experience.
• Knowledge in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup. Basic understanding of Metallurgy.
The salary range is $85-105k DOE
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., without current or future requirements for sponsorship of an employment-based visa status.
