Summary/Objective

The Regional Sales Account Manager is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with prospective and current customers. The RAM will also be responsible for prospecting and closing sales leads to help generate revenue for Viking Engineering. They will be required to provide input on sales strategies within their current territory as well as Viking's overall corporate sales strategies. They will grow our customer sales base and help achieve budgeted revenues and margins and assist the Service Department on machine installs and service-related visits when required.

Sales personnel are also responsible for studying and understanding Viking Engineering products, competitive equipment, industry needs/requirements and assisting in developing territory forecasts. Sales is also responsible for data entry into CRM, generating requested reports when needed, arranging their travel schedule to include attending various trade shows, and filing timely expense reports.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include using best efforts to sell the company's products within the defined territory through direct customer contact, trade shows, advertising, and generating quotes. This involves visiting current and prospective customers, conducting follow-up calls to ensure satisfaction, and developing strategic sales plans. The role also focuses on building and maintaining strong business relationships, implementing strategies to expand the customer base, achieving budgeted revenues and margins, generating sales forecasts, and assisting in resolving customer product complaints. Collaboration with Field Service and other departments to ensure excellent customer service, working with internal stakeholders to increase sales and market share, and traveling to customer sites to support machine installations as needed are also essential.

Accountability

Key accountabilities include managing machine and kit sales, participating in trade shows, conducting sales calls and updating CRM systems, providing support for new and existing customers and products, and acting as the voice of the customer to ensure their needs are met.

Required Skills and Experience

Preferred skills include a minimum of two years of experience in capital equipment sales, with a preference for experience in the pallet or wood industry. Candidates should possess technical knowledge of machine functions (electrical and mechanical), the ability to travel frequently, and skills in developing and maintaining business relationships. Experience in generating leads and managing them through CRM systems is important. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience are also preferred.

Preferred Software Experience

Preferred software experience includes Dynamics 360 CRM for lead management and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Location

This is a full-time exempt position. The typical schedule is standard business hours with occasional hours on nights and weekends as business needs dictate.

Travel

Willing to travel for business, customer visits, trade shows & events (domestic & international).
